Fluffing Out Your Tree

Fluff Out Your Tree Like An Expert It's the most exciting part of decorating getting the Christmas Tree out of it's box, ready for Christmas to begin! Your WeRChristmas Tree has been compressed tightly in it's box to use less packaging for the environment and it means we can get it to you quicker for shipping purposes. To ensure your tree is as full as possible you will need to spend time and effort fluffing and manipulating the branches. Our in house photographers spend a few hours fanning and fluffing the branches, it's worth the time, care and effort to get your desired effect. Start at the back of your branches, fan each tip and spread the branches so they cover the trunk/middle of your tree. When moving onto the next branch overlap the branches to create a fuller appearance in the middle of your tree. Pull the side branches and tips out as you work your way to the front of the branch separating any sprigs off the main stem. Layer the tips on top of one another to create a realistic look like the foliage on a real tree.  Once you've fanned and fluffed out each individual section of your tree, ensure that the light connectors are screwed into one another if your tree is pre-lit. You can do this when slotting the sections into one another. The connectors are the same colour as your tree and are well camouflaged by your trees branches. The connectors are located in the middle of the tree and are attached to the lights,   If you have a tree 7ft+ we recommend fanning out the top before slotting it into the middle section of your tree. This is so you're not on a ladder for a prolonged period of time.  Plug in your tree to ensure the lights are all working and you're happy with how the lights sit against the branches.  Results Of Tree Fluffing We collaborated with Katie from @The_ModernMum on our hugely popular Fraser Fir Tree. Why putting your decorations up earlier is good for your health

Why putting your decorations up earlier is good for your health?  "In a world full of stress and anxiety people like to associate to things that make them happy and Christmas decorations evoke those strong feelings of the childhood." There’s no doubt about it that Christmas is everyone’s favourite time of year. (Except the Grinch of course) Some people spend more than half of the year planning December festivities, it's an important time as people are crafting memories and spending time with their nearest and dearest. Christmas is known to be the best holiday throughout the year, it brings such happiness and cheer that people love to immerse themselves in. Other people wait patiently until December then they start with their Christmas prep. Obviously we can't relate to that 😉 Researchers say that you’re happier and healthier than the rest of the population if your year revolves around the festive period.   Psychoanalyst Steven McKeown, the founder of MindFixers and the owner of The McKeown says: "In a world full of stress and anxiety people like to associate to things that make them happy and Christmas decorations evoke those strong feelings of the childhood. "Although there could be a number of symptomatic reasons why someone would want to obsessively put up decorations early, most commonly for nostalgic reasons either to relive the magic or to compensate for past neglect. Decorations are simply an anchor or pathway to those old childhood magical emotions of excitement. So putting up those Christmas decorations early extend the excitement!" Bestselling author Amy Morin who wrote 13 things mentally strong people don’t do added, “The holiday season stirs up a sense of nostalgia. Nostalgia helps link people to their personal past and it helps people understand their identity. For many putting up Christmas decorations early is a way for them to reconnect with their childhoods. It may be a bittersweet feeling." "Perhaps the holidays serve as a reminder of when a loved one was still alive. Or maybe looking at a Christmas tree reminds someone of what life was like when they still believed in Santa. For people who have lost a loved one, the holidays may serve as a reminder of happy times they had with that person in the past. Decorating early may help them feel more connected with that individual," So there is psychological reasoning to back this up, if you’re part of the population that dust of the decorations and hang them earlier than most keep that festive cheer going. There’s still some time until Christmas, however as soon as we feel that frosty November air we’ll definitely be putting our decorations up! Create A Hygee Home

There’s nothing better than being cosy and warm inside when the weather turns grey and the rain is pouring outside. Here at WeRChristmas we're huge lovers of the Danish lifestyle home trend Hygee! Over the last few years you my have seen the word "Hygee" popping up in blogs and lifestyle news, especially in Winter. Pronounced "hoo-ga" the Danish concept can't be translated to a single word, it encompasses a feeling of cozy contentment, enjoying the simple things in life and embracing self care and well being.  If you've ever spent a Sunday indoors watching movies or reading your favourite book, or enjoyed a hot chocolate on a snowy day then you have experienced Hygee without even knowing it. Denmark is credited as one of the worlds happiest countries despite their harsh winter conditions, this is why the rest of the world is trying to catch on to their cosy way of life. Textures   Opt for thick knitted or woollen throws and cushions for in your living space. These make snuggling up on the sofa that bit warmer and cosier. Dependant on your budget there’s something for everyone on the high street, shops such as B&M and Primark offer low priced home furnishings which are often a bargain for the quality! If you have a bit more cash to splash out then Next or Wayfair sell great seasonal Homeware.  Fragrances It’s crazy how something as simple as smell can create a cosier and warmer feel to your home. If you’ve got a few free hours bake some delicious cakes or cookies and let the sweet aromas flow through the air. You’ll have everyone’s mouths drooling!  We love a good candle here at HQ, with Yankee Candles being one of our favourite brands. Their Christmas scents are always amazing, dashes of cinnamon, berries and frosted pine, we find they continue to smell all the way through the candle burning.  If you’ve got little ones and candles aren't for you, invest in some room sprays or air fresheners that lingers. Our favourite must be the room sprays from Aldi, they do amazing festive smelling ones each winter, they're also a dupe of the more upmarket Jo Malone room sprays. Lights   The days are growing darker and the best way to brighten up your home is with lights! Our favourite way is definitely using LED fairy lights. You can put them almost anywhere and they certainly wouldn’t look out of place. They illuminate the darkest of corners and fill the room with a twinkling glow. Why not head over to our other blog and have a read of our top tips on the best ways to use fairy lights!
